The cancer is the second largest killer disease in the worldwide. The incidence of cancer increases as age advance. Above 60 ages more than 70 percent of the new cases occurring. Chemicals carcinogens cause about 80 percent of the human cancers. Children’s and elderly people is affected by cancer in the developing countries and population is affected by cancer in the developed countries. In USA about 90 percent of cancer deaths are due to tobacco, pollution, occupation, alcohol and diet. 20 percent of the deaths in America are due to cancer. 50 percent of the newly diagnosed cancer occurs in the major organs such as skins, lungs, colon and rectum, breast, prostrate and ulcers.
What is skin cancer?
Malignant growth of external layer of the skin causes skin cancer. 90 percent of the skin cancer signs are due to sun exposure and to prevent skin cancer sunscreen is used. The sign of skin cancer are three types they are basal cell carcinoma, melanoma and squamous cell carcinoma. Nonmelanoma skin cancer is a combination of basal and squamous cell carcinoma. Melanoma skin cancer is quickly spread all over the body. More than 90 percent skin cancer in USA is basal cell carcinoma. The basal cell carcinoma does not spread all over the body.
Symptoms
Appearing a skin lesion, fresh blood vessels are seen at the edge of the skin, and ulcer found in the center of the skin with the dimpled appearance are the common symptoms of a basal cell carcinomas. These skin cancers develop slowly if they are untreated. When the face, ears, hands, and arms are exposed to the sun squamous cell carcinoma skin cancer occurs. The symptoms of these skin cancers are scaling without itching for a cresting ulcer is seen in the center of the raised bump. 2 percent of the skin cancer is due to scars burns.95 percent of skin cancer is due to squamous cell carcinomas and 3 percent are due to basal cell carcinomas.
Diagnosis and treatment
The tumor cell of the skin cancer is diagnosed under a microscope and development stages of the diseases are determined. Dietary intake of vitamins C and E is used to prevent sunburn and skin cancer when they are exposed to ultraviolet lights. The skin cancer is curable and preventable if they detected early.
